POP Fishmongers Ltd.
Sepiella Japonica or Japanese Spinless Cuttlefish is a part of the Sepiella cuttlefish family. It lives up to 50m deep in the Northwest Pacific, primarily around Japan, South Korea and China. It is a commercially important marine specie in China and Vietnam.
Cuttlefish eat small molluscs, crab, shrimp, fish, octopus, worms and other cuttlefish. They normally live for about 1-2 years, and are considered to be a highly intelligent invertebrate. This gives the fish a large brain-to-body size, with a large head and small legs. The cuttlefish has a lot of ink in their heads, which they use as a sensory distraction technique during combat.
Cuttlefish can be enjoyed in various dishes like stews or you can off course deep fried it and dip it in aioli.
